W.E.X.

WEX #1.

Running quickly as i can, feet slamming against the hard pavement. without thinking i hop over the 3 foot white wall, unaware that there was a 15 foot fall on the other side, once both feet were off the ground there was no going back, time stops as i feel my heart beat begin to slow down. the drop was high and below was a a planter that stuck out about 5 feet. falling.. i thought to myself how this all started. My body begins to spin and i am unable to control my body and i start to spin out of control. I could of taken my time to see what kind of drop were looking at here but i ignored my little thing called common sense. I landed hash on my back doing a roll but I was too scared to think about the pain. my body got up and kept running but my mind didn't think i had it in me.

WEX #2.

Looking out at the fast abyss of a once known but forgotten, ruined city. Pawing at the doors to one of the local run down grocery store. I discretely walk around seeing the body's of my fellow cats, that were once apart of this world. I've traveled from Russia to California, but everything is the same after the nuclear war. as if every thing was black and white. I was running low on food and i had to find my local cat food dealer. i walk by the edge of a small lake, probably made from a nuclear blast. Surprisingly there were signs of living creatures in there. i know for a fact they were sure as hell not fish. probably just mutated animals.

WEX #3.

Do perfect societies exist? personally i think the don't because nothing can be perfect because nothing can be perfect, because there will always be something there to mes it up. Example in hassien because the whole idea of every one equal and the handi-capper general, ruth reachably, and that is a perfect society.

pasta primavera!

Today i will be showing you how to make your own home made pasta primavera.

some supplies you will need are:

hand full of basil

1/2 lemon

baby tomato's

box of pasta (multi colored pasta)

Olive Oil

Pepper

and a big knife.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

before you start were going to need a pot, (to cook the pasta in) and a frying pan
to cook the tomato sause. now start boiling water.

Step 1. were going to start off with the sauce. cut up the tomatoes in to 1/4 slices per half tomato. put all the juice and cut up pieces and put them on the frying pan on high or about 5 to 6 minuets.

Step 2. onto the pasta, take your choice pasta and add it to the boiling water. stir pasta until the pasta is a little under baked, so its not super squishy. now spyphin out the pasta and put it back in the pot.

Step 3. Now were going to move onto the basil. take the hand full of basil and wash it well before you use it, once washed take the basil in tall strips with each leaf stacked on top of it. and cut the basil into 1/4 little strips until it looks like so in the picture. now take the basil and mix it in the pasta until the basil gets thin and and has less texture. so once that has been done you can assure the flavor has sunk into the pasta.

Step 4. now add in a hand full of some home crushed all organic pepper. now make sure its all mixed in spread out through out the entire bowl of pasta.

Step 5. now add salt, garlic, and parsley home made mixture.

Step 6. now squeeze half a lemon into the entire bowl and mix well with all the other ingredients.

Step 7. now mix it all up and add your sauce and your ready to dine elegantly!

Accomplishing Big Things in Small Pieces.

This shows thats even all of what we think would be impossible can still be achieved if we try. To William his dyslexia caused him to have more trouble than others at stuff such as reading and writing, but he said the one thing that felt normal to him was his Rubiks cube and how he has a different ability than others on how his minds more common things harder, though other people would find the things that he think are hard, easy.

Recipes and Cooking ideas

with the herbs and things that we were to grow in class we were to find 3 recipes that included the herbs that we grew, i chose to use the cayenne pepper instead of the basil because i think peppers are way better.

ecological intelligence is when the people of the world actually know and understand the real points of GOING GREEN, like some people don't know that "even organic cotton requires more than 2,640 gal. of water to grow enough fiber for one T shirt. ", now some people would know this but if every one did, that would be my idea of ecological intelligence. This connects to our project because this article not only shows facts but it shows how we the people can help the solution to get every one to understand what is going on with GOING GREEN. I would have to say that my ecological intelligence is really low because i didn't even know that fact about the organic shirts, and i definitely know that there's more facts about organic stuff out there in the world that the world and I definitely know about.

TAKE THIS SURVEY

Ok well for our project we need to make a survey and we need people to take it!

HERES THE LINK TO MY SURVEY!

Saturday, March 7, 2009

1Q. What Strikes you about their movie?

1A. the mere fact that the Dervaes family can just conserve to the point where they only eat what they grow in their garden, and their garder surrounds their entire house. I think that would be hard to just manage a garden with that size, but to got to the extreme where you almost never eat any out side is a completely different level.

2Q. What do you think the Dervaes’ family Needs vs. Wants sheet would look like? Why?

2A. Their needs would be very shorter than their wants. because what they need is food and electricity but they choose to conserve, so their needs would be solar panels, seeds, a proper garden, tools, and basically any thing that is needed to live sustainably.

3Q. How does the Dervaes family fit into what we are studying in My Ishmael?

3A. From my ishmael it talks about how their government controls the food and they people who want food they need to work for it and its only for the people who are dedicated to wanting that food. The exact same pricible goes for the Dervaes family, except there no government making them work, they work to survive, its like they are the guards who guard the food and the dancers, they choose to dance whenever.

4Q. Overall, what are your thoughts on the way this family lives and works?

4A. Overall i think this way of life would most definitely be a very difficult way to live and it wouldn't be fun, but its how these people want live, any one can do it but it just takes determination.

my Ishmael

1. 1. What are Ishmael’s two general rules on how to identify people from our culture? Do you agree with Ishmael when he says that people from all over the world are part of the same culture? Why or why not?

1A. Ishmael's ways of identifying people from our culture were the Dancers, where they would dance for food or they would choose to not dance and suffer the consequences (death maybe), where on the other hand he has the thought that all humans are inherently flawed.

2Q. Ishmael disagrees with Mother Culture’s voice that says that humans are inherently flawed. After reading through page 66 of My Ishmael do agree or disagree with him? Why?

2A. I do think that humans are inherently flawed, because how this world is going, how the economy and just overall world is falling apart is about 99% our fault. Of course the other 1% is just the world slowly falling apart but the other 99 is from us treating the world like crap, But yeah there are thing we could do to prolong the world crash but there is no way that we can overall stop our human flaws. But if the world chooses to start helping out its going to be hard due to the fact that some people won't, because people that are born with these habits will continue what they were taught.

3Q. Ishmael uses a parable of Tunes and Dancers to explain his idea of Takers and Leavers. Who are these Takers and Leavers and how do they relate to American culture?

3A. takers are the ones who talk dance really seriously and devote their hardest to get the maximum of what is to be gained. but leavers take the bare minimum retirements of what they can. they will take what they need and only what they need. takers are like Americans because we chase success and we are always trying to get bigger and better than what we already have.

Freedom

1Q. What does it mean to live sustainably?
1A. To me, living sustainably means being able to conserve to the point to where i would need only about ten percent of what i use now. I mean i would be able to cut down on electricity more, "recycle", Cutting back on eating so much, and maybe take the buss instead of getting a ride from my parents.

2Q. How much freedom/independence do you have in our society as a 14-16 year old?
2A. I think I have a lot of freedom but it is restricted to the people I am with or environment I am in. Like if I'm with my parents, i wouldn't really have that much freedom which leads me to question number three.

3Q. As a 14-16 year old how can u live your life more sustainably?
3A. Continuing on, for me its all about my freedom. some things i suggested was if i were to take the buss, but that option is limited due to the fact that my mom doesn't really like me taking the buss. And also cutting back on food, but to me that's really on who buys the food, so it usually comes down on to how much freedom you have as a kid. The more mature you become the more responsibilities and options become available.

This Semester's Goals

1. How are you different now than when you started school in August?

From now and when i started school i now understand that high school is a lot and harder than i thought it was going to be at first. I learned that you have to put your 100 percent full effort into every thing you do in this school.

2. What skills do you think are the most important for succeeding in Humanities? Why?

One of the major skills I learned that was a MAJOR skill was learning to work in a group. its actually lot harder than you would think because at some point people are doing stuff you don't want them to do or something gets messed up. Its just something you gotta deal with and learn to overcome.

3. One thing I would like to improve on this semester is....I am going to do this by....

One of the things i would like to improve on is definitely putting my full effort into my own work. usually i do my work but i always skip the little things which eventually end up as a big disaster when it all adds up.

4. What are you most curious about? If you could study any topic, what would you study and why?

Honestly, i don't really know what to expect further on in this semester. Somethings i wouldn't mind learning are better reading skills. as of now im a pretty slow reader. others would be better presenting skill, for future use or even p.o.l.'s.
